The microwave bands above 23cm can be intimidating for some operators. The introduction of the Icom 905 transceiver has made it a lot easier for amateurs to explore the bands above 23cm. There are plenty of internet resources that will provide information for amateurs wishing to explore these bands.
One source of introductory information is contained in Andrew VK3FS’s excellent website. It contains articles that explain amateur radio microwaves very well indeed. I contacted Andrew and he is very happy for his site to be used via a link. I thoroughly recommend reading through Andrew’s site. There are lots of ideas and projects there.
